We know that it can be quite stressful to leave your dog or cat alone when you have to leave town. The veterinary teams at Chuckanut Valley Vet Clinic and Chuckanut Feline Center are here to help put your mind at ease.

While we provide complete general boarding services for our patients, we no longer offer medical boarding services.

Pet Boarding: A Typical Day

Cats

We can offer a dedicated Feline Wing for boarding cats in one of our numerous "cat condos." With spacious rooms and a full window to view the outdoors, your cat will be sure to enjoy their stay while you are away.

Your cat will be fed according to your specifications and their requirements, to ensure their routine is the same as it is at home.

We provide daily one-on-one interaction with kitties (if they want it!) including play, snuggles, and pets. Litter boxes are checked, cleaned, and disinfected periodically throughout the day.

Additionally, we refresh linens and clean your kitty's room daily. Our cat boarding area is a quiet and safe area that will keep them stress-free and separate from any other animals within the clinic.

Dogs

Each morning, our overnight and doggie daycare boarders venture outside for some fresh air before they have their breakfast. While outside, your pooch's kennel will be cleaned, disinfected, and stocked with fresh linens.

Your dog will also have supervision throughout their entire stay with us – both during walks and while they rest. In the evening, dinner is served.

  • How should I prepare for my pet's stay?

Each animal is different. To prepare for your pet's stay with us, we'll take the following steps to ensure that we can meet their unique needs.

Step 1: Contact us to get started

Get in touch with us to book your pet's stay and to discuss details about your companion and their boarding needs. A member of our team will be happy to coordinate your booking.

Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered dogs. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility. We no longer offer medical boarding.

Step 2: Book a trial stay

Before a pet stays with us, we need to make sure they have a good temperament to be a fit in our boarding facility with a trial stay. This consists of a full day of daycare where we take some time to assess your pet's temperament and ensure they'll fit right in.

Step 3: Set your pet up for success

On the day you drop your pet off with us, there are a few steps you can take to help reduce any stress your pet may feel.

Spend some extra time with your pet beforehand, and make sure they get some vigorous exercise so that they are feeling calm. When you arrive at our facility, stay calm, cheerful, and confident during the separation.
