FAQ

Does my dog or cat require a license?  Within city limits, pets are required to be licensed and have a current rabies vaccination.  For more information, please refer to http://www.mrsc.org/codes.aspx#city.

At what age do you recommend vaccinations?  Our clinic determines necessary vaccines based on the lifestyle of your pet.  Vaccines for kittens and puppies start at 8 weeks of age and the veterinarian will provide you with a vaccine schedule for future dates showing which vaccines your pet will require.

I used a flea product on my pet, but still see fleas. What do you recommend? First you need to be sure that you used a quality flea product at the proper dose. If you have, then you need to address the environment your pet is in and be sure that you are treating all animals and your home.

Do you carry Advantage? Our clinic has chosen Frontline, Revolution, and Comfortis for year round flea and tick prevention. We also carry products for your pets bedding and your household.

Why do I have to have an exam just to get my pet vaccinated? An exam is the most important part of a “vaccine” appointment to be sure your pet is healthy.

Can I give my dog aspirin? We do not recommend. It is important to talk to your veterinarian for advice.

My dog’s ear infection is back. Can I just get more medication without coming in? It is important that your veterinarian examine the ear to be sure the medications are not going to cause problems (deafness) as well to ensure they are going to be effective in treating the infection.
